Emirates Canadian University College, in Umm Al Quwain, got the third place for its project entitled "Al-Neprass Newspaper” in El Shorouk 4th Festival for Media Students’ creativity, in Egypt. The festival  was held under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, and organized by International Media Institute at Cairo Opera House during the period from 3 to 6 March 2019.It witnessed a participation of 116 innovative projects, from 38 Egyptian and Arab Universities.
Dr. Galal Hatem, Director of the College, said, "We are keen to participate in local and international scientific conferences and seminars, which aim to enhance the students' abilities, and promote their scientific and practical skills in all majors. And we are used to taking into consideration graduation projects that provide service to the UAE community, and instill a sense of responsibility and innovation skills of the students.
He added that the outstanding graduation projects highlight students’ creativity, and these projects are no longer considered as just a requirement for graduation, but they have become visions and innovations used by the students to illustrate their creations and ideas to serve the community.
Dr. Hatem pointed out that this award is the result of the college’s new vision in developing the practical and creative aspect of media students in particular, and the whole college students in general, aiming to provide them with the requirements of development and knowledge renaissance, and to emphasize the role of the college in achieving sustainable development through preparing qualified cadres in line with the UAE vision in building and anticipating the future.
